Myth of Creativity

Drawn by my beautiful friend, Amalina Nazihah

Creativity is defined as the tendency to generate or recognize ideas, alternatives, or possibilities that may be useful in solving problems, communicating with others, and entertaining ourselves and others.

This is a picture of daisies that bond with each other and glows when night falls. Many flowers have important symbolic meanings in Western culture. The practice of assigning meanings to flowers is known as floriography. Daisies are often represent a symbol of innocence. As i look into this beautiful picture, it brings out the calm and emptiness inside of me. Here is an example of a daisies analysis written by Connie Wanek which illustrate the true meaning of daisies that probably a number of us don't know.

In the democracy of daisies
every blossom has one vote.
The question on the ballot is
Does he love me?

If the answer's wrong I try another,
a little sorry about the petals
piling up around my shoes.

Bees are loose in the fields
where daisies wait and hope,
dreaming of the kiss of a proboscis.
We can't possibly understand

what makes us such fools.
I blame the June heat
and everything about him.

  1. You forgot to credit Linda Naiman for this quote: Creativity is define as the act of turning new and imaginative ideas into reality. Creativity involves two processes : thinking, then producing. Innovation is the production or implementation of an idea. If you have ideas, but don't act on them, you are imaginative but not creative.
